The posted all-in spot price includes base rate, fuel surcharge and tolls. Live booking rates can differ from public recent averages.

Select spot loads accept a rate request through Relay Assistant, which may approve it or counteroffer. The option is not offered on every load.

Post A Truck

Set pickup radius, deadhead, cities, duration and payout preferences. Matching can automatically book suitable freight; an unmatched order expires with its availability window.

The High/Medium/Low indicator uses criteria and six weeks of prior load availability. It estimates a match rather than reserving freight.

The lowest of on-time, acceptance, app-use and disruption-free metrics sets the score. Grades unlock booking options; higher grades get matching priority.

Contracts and scheduled blocks

The contract marketplace includes full-week, partial-week, reservation and standby opportunities. Compare the actual block schedule, equipment and payout before booking.

The public guide describes 1–10-week work and also mentions durations up to six months. Available offers govern the actual length; the page does not give one consistent maximum.

New contracts require B or higher. A grade below C+ risks losing booked contracts. Initial grading requires at least ten loads in the last six active weeks.

Booked loads must be executed. Carrier rejections, including expired tenders, can affect performance; later cancellations carry more weight.

Getting approved and staying eligible

U.S. for-hire property carriers need valid MC authority and interstate DOT authority active for at least 180 days, plus safety and insurance approval.

Day or sleeper cabs; 16- or 26-foot box trucks with tuck-under liftgates; 48-foot trailers, 53-foot dry vans or reefers; and specified UIIA-compliant containers.

FMCSA rating must be Satisfactory, None or Not Rated. BASIC scores must be below 60% for unsafe driving/HOS and below 75% for maintenance, substances and driver fitness.

Over the previous 12 months, driver violation rate must be at or below 35% and vehicle violation rate at or below 50%.

Published minimums include $1M auto liability, $100K cargo and $1M/$2M general liability; trailer coverage, workers’ compensation and employer liability requirements also apply.

A coverage lapse stops booking and hauling until reinstatement. Submit renewal details early enough for verification.

Typical application review is 1–3 weeks. Drivers need invitations, identity verification and background checks before hauling.

Trip execution and payment

Amazon tenders loads directly to approved carriers through Relay. It does not tender through third-party load boards.

All Relay loads use the mobile app. Drivers must keep it running with location available throughout the trip.

The app supports delay reporting, load updates and digital proof of delivery/bills of lading.

The portal shows load-level performance, and carriers can dispute impacts. Amazon-cancelled loads should not affect the carrier’s acceptance score.

The payment week runs Sunday–Saturday; work completed by Saturday 23:59 is paid the following Friday. Relay generates invoices automatically.

Payment disputes can be submitted in the portal within 30 days of reviewing the weekly invoice.

Relay Operations Center offers 24/7 help through the portal/app. Application help uses Contact Us; Relay publishes no official public contact phone number.
