Our take

1st Guard is worth considering when you want to manage truck coverage directly with the insurer and pay monthly. Start with how you operate: a leased truck’s off-duty liability is a different purchase from liability under your own authority. Its digital certificates and fleet tools can help with day-to-day administration. The Premier add-on is especially worth comparing if a distant breakdown or repair would disrupt your work, but its distance, rental and parts limits matter as much as the monthly price.

What stands out

Getting covered

Lead with your authority and the freight you haul. A low off-duty liability premium is not a substitute for coverage while working, and cargo needs its own limits and exclusions checked.
